Thanksgiving

On Friday evening, Olivia and Nate hosted an American Thanksgiving, seating 12 people in Olivia’s bedroom. Chinese and American friends savored the diverse menu including egg and banana soup and other Chinese dishes I can’t name, fish, turkey drumstick, stuffing, apple and banana cream pie, and yeast rolls. Each guest spoke about a personal gratitude, but all were grateful for the chance to eat and enjoy international friendship. Nate is standing in this picture, and the pot of mashed potatoes at the front of the table was my contribution. Can’t go wrong with mashed potatoes!

I am just getting caught up on these posts. I could not agree more. You can never go wrong with mashed potatoes! James and Esther arrive tonight for Christmas. All 3 of us are so grateful that even though the flight was late again (every year), there is much less pressure as it is not snowing, and it is not Dec 24th. Hope all is well.
