New Year’s Eve

My Chinese teacher, her daughter and I went to a concert by the Hangzhou Philharmonic Orchestra. The Theatre is part of a new economic development area on the Qiantang River. The globe is the Hangzhou Convention Center.

Forming a “sun and moon” complex is the Hangzhou Grand Theatre.

The music was a combination of Western and Chinese, with solos by a violinist, pianist, tenor and soprano.

At the end of the concert, confetti exploded from the stage like fireworks, balloons dropped from the balcony and the audience cheered mightily. A New Year’s Eve to remember!
